Snow balls? What are we talking about here? May was a busy month at Slammers for evals and there’s no better time than the present to build a snowman to reveal the organization wide Snow Ball leaderboard.
Come and get em.
What is a Snow Ball?
A Snow Ball is the gem of a batting practice session. It’s that ball that you square up perfectly - a no-doubt-knock. A snow ball is a hit captured on a Rapsodo during a batting practice session that checks 3-to-4 of the following boxes:
Hit it hard. (90+ mph exit velocity)
Hit a line drive or fly ball. (14-31 degree launch angle)
Ideal spin for optimal carry. (1800-2200 rpm)
Ideal spin axis for optimal trajectory. (backspin it between 10am and 2pm)

Why are we chasing Snow Balls?
The more Snow Balls you hit in the cage, the more likely you are to get one in a game. Simple math.
Get a Snow Ball in a game = do damage.
When would I have had a chance to hit a Snow Ball?

All swings eligible for this list were taken during eval sessions at Slammers North and South during the month of May. This list includes both Youth and High School players because yes, some of our youth guys are launching Snow Balls already…
Without further ado…
8,503 swings were taken during 688 unique player-sessions. Less than 1% of those swings registered as Snow Balls.
Pssst, it’s not easy. You gotta work for it.
49 players registered at least one Snow Ball in the month of May. Tip of the cap to our guys making it snow in May:
