Tyler Weston - RHP
At 5-11, 195 lbs., Tyler Weston is a bulldog on the mound. Weston is one of the top athletes on Zavaras 2024 with a Loden Score of 6 and he’s an above average runner (3.92 sec 30-yd split). He is also one of the hardest throwers on Zavaras 2024 with a fastball that gets up into the low 90’s. Weston has a four-pitch mix spear-headed by his four seam fastball that has some ride to it (~16.5” VB on Rapsodo). This summer he induced swing-and-miss over 16% of the time - a stat that outpaced the three Division 1 commits on the team by over 4% each. He punched out 39 in 26 innings with a 2.15 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. Opponents hit just .158 against him this summer.
Adam Smith - MIF
At 5-11, 170 lbs., Adam Smith is one of the better athletes on the Zavaras 2024 roster with a Loden Score of 5 and has room to add strength and continue to fill out. Across 36 games this summer, Smith led the team in hitting with a .421 AVG, .496 OBP, and a 1.234 OPS. His 6 home runs and 3 triples were also tops on the team. He also stole 17 bags and struck out just 10% of the time. Smith is lauded by the coaching staff for his competitive makeup and has the defensive chops to stay on the dirt.
Bryce Robinette - INF
Bryce Robinette is a 5-10, 170 lb. infielder who led Zavaras 2024 in doubles this summer with 11 in 36 games. He finished behind only Adam Smith in average (.368) and OPS (1.002) while walking nearly twice as much as he struck out (15:8). A solid athlete with a Loden Score of 5, he also stole 8 bags. Robinette is noted to be a steady, complete player with an exceptional internal clock.
Owen McCandless - RHP
Owen McCandless is a 6-6, 180 lb. right-handed pitcher that features a mid-to-upper 80’s fastball with carry and a short-breaking slider. One can assume there’s more in the tank as he continues to fill out. He struck out 29 in 22.1 IP this summer while pitching to a 2.82 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. His 12.6% swing-and-miss rate was good for second best on the team behind Tyler Weston.
John Rossi - OF
John Rossi is a 5-10, 140 lb. left-handed hitting outfielder who is an exceptional defender. While coaches rave about the defense, Rossi put together a quality summer at the plate. In 33 games, Rossi hit .360 with a .932 OPS and added 16 stolen bases. Rossi also walked more times (16) than he struck out (10) across 113 plate appearances.
Dominic Gamueda - CF
Another outfielder with room to physically mature, Dom Gamueda is a 6-0, 143 lb. true centerfielder who is lauded for his defense, his high baseball IQ, and his sneaky pop for his size. A solid runner (3.92 sec 30-yd split), Gamueda stole 15 bases this summer in 35 games. At the plate, he hit .320 with 8 doubles (third most on team), a triple, and a home run - good for a .917 OPS. Gamueda is another left-handed hitting leadoff type.
Liam Mosley - RHP
Liam Mosely is another long right-handed pitcher at 6-5, 155 lbs. - and, like McCandless, one can assume there’s more in the tank as he fills out his wiry frame. Mosely’s calling card is strikes. He complements his mid-80’s fastball with a changeup around 78-80 with some sink and a low-70’s slider. He walked just 3 while striking out 45 in 35.2 IP and was good for a first pitch strike to 72% of the batters he faced this summer.
